A new year means the launch of new products and product lines at local stores. Today on “Show Me St. Louis,” I featured what’s new at stores in Chesterfield Mall. At American Girl, the 2016 Girl of the Year is Lea, a talented photographer with a love of animals, who has a connection to St. Louis! She resides in the Lafayette Square neighborhood, and she discovers a wide world of possibilities when she embarks on a faraway adventure to Brazil to visit her older brother, Zac, who is studying the Amazon rainforest. Lea is excited to capture everything she sees with her camera. Soon Lea makes some incredible discoveries, but she also faces unexpected challenges, including a fear of the ocean, tension with Zac, and finding a baby sloth that has been gravely injured. In addition to the Lea doll, check out all of the clothing and accessories that go with her, even coordinating outfits for girls!
Next, the 2016 Pantone Color of the year is Rose Quartz and Serenity. Joined together, the colors demonstrate an inherent balance between the warner embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace. You’ll find these colors on jewelry at Francesca’s, as well as Pantone Universe collection at Sephora, which includes lip gloss, lipstick and a watercolors eye palette.
Also at Sephora, January is Skin Care Month. Winter is the harshest season on your skin, so take special care of your skin now. New products include Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel, which is like a facial at home and restores firmness, reduces wrinkles and recovers radiance. Cleanse your face with the Foreo Luna 2, which provides deep cleansing that feels extremely gentle on the skin, purifies skin by removing 99.5% of dirt and oil, smoothes the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles, and more! Finally, moisturize with Algenist Power, an advanced wrinkle fighter moisturizer that includes Alguronic Acid and AlgaProtein.
From Gifts ‘N Things, cheer on the St. Louis Blues with new T-shirts and scarves which feature the “bling” to make you stand out at the games! Plus, catch up on some reading with new St. Louis books, including Guidebook To St. Louis, Historic Missouri Roadsides and Downtown St. Louis.
Finally, refresh your home with new furnishings from Pottery Barn. One of their newest collections is inspired by Indigo, the ancient Japanese tie-dyeing technique that dates back to the eighth century. They put a modern spin on it with a new collection to bring a global look to your home, and features everything from place settings to linens. Their new concept, The Collected Home, makes it easy to express yourself by layering timeless, long-lasting furniture with globally-inspired décor that reflects you.
Check out all of these stores at Chesterfield Mall, and start the new year off right with a shopping trip filled with the latest in fashion, beauty and home furnishings!
