In our continuing recognition of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a recent layout in Us Magazine asked you to “Rethink Your Pink” by taking a less sweet, more sexy approach to wearing pink. I featured some new pink looks found in local stores on Show Me St. Louis today. The idea is to mix pink with black and gold to create a bolder look, not just this month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, but heading into the holiday season. Let’s take a look at four key pink pieces to pair with black, but I have changed it up and added touches of silver instead of gold, which is currently more prevalent in local stores.
The Pink Jacket
I found a pink Alex Marie jacket from Dillard’s-Chesterfield, and paired it with a pink Peter Nygard animal print top and dark-wash Jones New York embellished denim. I finished the look with black and silver Antonio Melani booties and a black Michael Kors bag with a silver chain, a hot trend for fall.
The Pink Dress
Take a look at the sleeveless pink dress from H&M which I paired with the must-have jacket of fall – the motorcycle jacket. Then complete the look with studded sandals and a pink scarf. This outfit truly has all the elements of the sweet and sexy look.
The Pink Top
I found a great pink tunic sweater from J. Jill, paired with black leggings, a pink and green print scarf and pink beaded necklace. This would be a great look for a casual outdoor occasion.
The Pink Skirt
I found a pink skirt from Francesca’s, and combined it with a silver sweater, black belt and black boots. This is another look that really shows a feminine yet tough look at pairing pink with black and silver.
